i think i posted the fact that i suddenly stopped attending all the meetings, field service and all, very suddenly.

not a single meeting this year.

i guess i would describe myself now as a sort of little toe guy, a liberal christian.. of course, i have had all the elder visits asking me how i am doing etc.

I want to make it clear that my leaving has to do with the fact that there are fundamental principles that they should espouse, like Jesus is Lord, that aren?t practiced by the Society.

I totally agree with Narkissos: keep up this line of reasoning with them, and you'll be disfellowshipped before you know it. Seriously.
There is no way they can allow you to leave with honour, if you persist in highlighting WT errors. They cannot allow you the freedom to expose these to others, and the most effective way to silence you is to disfellowship you.
By the way, I liked your scripture (1Co 15:58), but I thought verse 57 says it even more explicitly.
And I hope all goes well when they come round next time...

check out the official jw-media site and find their 'official' response to the accusations of child abuse within its organisation.. they simply feature this quote:.

"people didn't have the body of knowledge 18 or 20 years ago to say that this is something that will harm your child emotionally, if you don't address it.

parents didn't know the seriousness ... and the long-term effects.".

Hi pudd,
I too was very interested in what they could possibly discuss for 8 weeks.

This is definitely not a routine refresher course, no matter what may be said to the contrary.
shame no one seems to know anything about it.

Some do, but they're just a little 'shy'!
But, give a little time, and it will definitely come out, one way or another. That's a certainty.

Hi Anglise,
We toured round mainly on the West up to Skye

The west coast has some wonderful hidden gems: slightly north of Skye (on the mainland) are Gairloch, Poolewe (if you're into gardens, don't miss Inverewe Gardens), Ullapool, Inverkirkaig and Lochinver (the road from Inverkirkaig to Lochinver is stunning).
You are in a beautiful part of the UK.

It is beautiful, and the more I travel the more I enjoy coming home: however, almost everywhere has its own beauty (with the possible exception of a certain part of New York City where I once got lost!), equally stunning, just different.
Have tried to get info on the CO bash at Bethel but no luck yet. I will try other sources.

Curious, isn't it?!

IT I did see a lot I know, just didn't get to linger.

Yea, Americans do it all the time. If it's Tuesday, this must be Scotland, yesterday was Ireland and we're doing England tomorrow.
I was there in May...not quite summer so maybe I lucked out and

May is normally a good month for weather, though from memory last year was different. We had heat waves most the summer apart from May!
got some good haggis...the neeps & tatties were quite nice too!

Mmmm! Don't get me going again!

Inverness, Edinburgh and Glasgow ....unfortunately I wasn't there as long as I would have liked but was impressed with the little I did see!

What do you mean, "with the little I did see"? If you've been to Inverness, Edinburgh and Glasgow, you've done it all. There's nothing else left to see!
Just kidding! Though personally I prefer to get out of the cities as quickly as possible and into the countryside...
I'm hoping to go back and visit again someday

So do I: though January (Robert Burns' birthday) is the traditional time of the year for them. The young are born in spring, so by January they're grown up a bit, but still fresh and succulent and juicy.
If you had it in summer, they would have been older and so possibly a bit drier...
